SEO: What Should I Do?

I recently moved to a new large city. In doing so, I came across a job posting looking to hire a person for SEO work. I setup an interview and handed in my resume with references. I was told payment would be $14/hour. I was then offered the job.

My first day on this job was this Monday. I was told to sign a non competing agreement. I was also told to bring in a W9 form rather than a W4. This means I am a sub-contractor. I am confused- I was hired to be paid by salary and these 2 bosses have asked me to complete tasks at their office. I am working out of their office using their computer.

I have refused to do several of the unethical SEO task. I am NOT into black hat SEO practices. I really need the $$$ as I just moved to new city.

What should I do? Tomorrow, if I hand in the W9 form, I must pay my own taxes and SS. I do not have a business license- do I need one?
Is this company breaking any laws? I have made sure to document all my work and emails………sending copies to myself. HELP!

An ethical SEO guide for small businesses. Top rankings on Google’s 1st page can be achieved in two ways:

Paid vs. Free

The easier route is to use paid advertising like PPC (pay per click) to get your web presence to appear on 1st page from Google, but PCC can be costly. Unless you’re a big corporation with big advertising budget, it will kill any small business right on the spot. That is why small business is more likely to look for help in Organic Search Rankings and aiming for a free way to “advertise” on Google. I mean, who doesn’t like the word FREE right? Not to mention organic natural rankings work much better than PPC.

Statistics show 85% of consumer traffic comes from natural search results, because Organic SEO is 8x more effective and trusted than paid search listings. Think of it this way, having done Search Engine Optimization “SEO” properly can bring you customers and clients from search engines to your doorstep 24 hours a day and 7 days a week without paying a fee.

Are you convinced and ready to get started on SEO? Before you start, it’s always a good idea to become an educated consumer and get familiar with how search engines work. Do a little research and read Google’s own words about Search Engine Optimization. Hire the right SEO expert can drive quality traffics to your website and enhance your brand awareness; it is also the key to a successful internet marketing campaign.
